Welcome

What is the Water Adaptation Community

Welcome to the Water Adaptation Community - a global network working to accelerate water and climate adaptation. The Water Adaptation Community fosters knowledge-sharing of good practices and strategies to accelerate water-linked climate adaptation globally. Our members work in areas such as city planning, climate change management, water governance, water for food and drinking, and climate finance. The community is managed by the Water & Urban team of the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA).

The Water Adaptation Community facilitators broker knowledge to national and international policymakers, through a partnership with the International Panel on Deltas and Coasts (IPDC) - an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water, supported by GCA and Deltares.

Communities of Practice

We have four communities of practice

1. Urban Climate Resilience,

2. Deltas,

3. Coasts,

4. Islands.

All are sharing knowledge of science, policies, governance, financing, strategy innovations, and implementation, often reaching beyond the water sector.
