COP24 side event: Exploring transboundary climate risks and opportunities

Time and date: 7 December 2018 16:00 - 17:30 GMT + 1 (CET)

Adaptation is a key challenge facing climate negotiators and policy-makers. Adopting a transboundary perspective on climate risk presents opportunities to advance global cooperation on the issue. This session explores transboundary climate risks and opportunities, drawing on case studies from around the world to explore the implications for national adaptation plans and global governance frameworks, providing an impetus for increased action, cooperation and resilience-building.

This event, co-organised by ODI and Wilton Park, in collaboration with SEI, is hosted at the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, taking place in Katowice, Poland. This event is open to all COP attendees.
