A new paper exploring the potential applications of subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) predictions has recently been published in Meteorological Applications (DOI: 10.1002/met.1654).
In the paper White et al. (2017) undertake the first comprehensive review of sectoral applications of S2S predictions, including public health, disaster preparedness, water management, energy and agriculture, highlighting the opportunities and challenges facing their uptake. They also show how social sciences can be integrated with S2S development to add value to the service.
